ANOTHER LANGUAGE TO THE HEART

Sometimes we like to talk in English because it sounds cool, or maybe because it allows us to say something that would be impossible to express in Portuguese. It makes us feel different, as if we were someone else. Maybe it’s a natural thing that humans like to play pretend, and by saying something in another language we kind of do that. It allows us to assume different characters, like someone from a movie we love. By saying a line from a movie, we kind of become that character, evoking feelings that that special movie evoked on us when we first saw it. After all, there are several of those movies.
